This Christmas baking season started just when it should have – December 1st! I’ve always wanted to bake throughout the month of December and I finally got the chance. In the end I realized two things from this decision, #1 – it is a really good thing I started so early because the last two weeks were full of lots of working and interning so I didn’t have a lot of baking time. And #2 – that although starting early was a good idea, I still should have done my usual planning because I ended up with so many similar things that I did have to scramble in the last week and make sure to get those Christmas-staples (sugar cookies, biscotti, etc) on the plates! Either way I ended up with 19 delicious festive treats!
In no particular order: Oatberry Cookies, Sugar Cookie Cut-outs, Red Velvet Cake Slices, Vanilla Bean Bars, Cranberry Bliss Bars (my faves), Amaretto Biscotti, Coconut Macaroons, Caramel Chocolitas, Creme De Menthe Brownies, Sea Salt Fudge, Mississippi Mud Cookies, Pretzel M&M Cookies, Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies, Oatmeal Strawberry Jam Bars, Mini Oatmeal Raisin Chocolate Chippers, Snickerdoodles, Gingersnaps, Five Layer Bars and Chocolate-Mint Bark Cookies.
The links are to the recipes I used or the ones I based my basic cookie on, but you know me, I’m full of twists and substitutions, and this month was filled with those – mostly good ones! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
